First leg of Champions League quarter-final goes to BarçaApril 6, 2016
Last night Barcelona came back from a one goal deficit to beat Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. Fernando Torres scored the opener 24 minutes into the match but 10 minutes later was given his marching orders after receiving a second yellow card for fouling Busquets.
Atletico hardly seemed like they were playing with ten men for the remainder of the half though, with the two teams seeming to be evenly matched. After the break was a different matter though and the Barça squad came out with a fresh determination against a team clearly doing all they could to slow things down. That spirit finally paid of when Suarez scored the equaliser. Nine minutes later he headed the ball into the Atletico net to put the Catalans ahead.
This is the third match this season against Atletico that has ended in a 2-1 win for Barcelona. Atletico Madrid will be looking to do more with the home advantage next week and perhaps more careful to ensure they keep the entire squad on the pitch throughout the game.
0-1 Torres (min 24)
1-1 Suárez (min 63)
