Barça annihilates Sevilla

November 2, 2010

After wondering if Barça was really up to taking the league again this season, they pull a 5-0 win out of the hat, and it wasn’t against a minor team. FC Barcelona’s complete domination of Sevilla shows what they can do when they all pull together, with two goals from Messi and Villa and another from Dani Alves.

Barça are now second place in the league after Villarreal dropped points and remain just one point behind Real Madrid. With “el classic” at the end of the month there is still time for either team to drop points, but it is certainly going to be an exciting race until then – provided Barça can perform like they did against Sevilla.

Of course, it is still early days. Anything could happen between now and the end of the season that could tip the balance for or against FC Barcelona.

1-0, Messi (min 4)
2-0, Villa (min 24)
3-0, Alves (min 52)
4-0, Messi (min 63)
5-0, Villa (min 90)

I took my son to the Sevilla match for his 16th Birthday. Having followed The Arsenal in Europe for many years i had learnt never to trust a ticket agency. But with these folk such mis trust was ill placed – the tickets were delivered as promised and the seats were excellent. The 5 goals from Barca and a performance from Messi to just wonder at of course was the icing on the cake.

I totally agree with your sentiments David. Having looked rather lack-lustre in the last few games, Barca really stepped-up a couple of gears against Sevilla on Saturday night.

Villa’s first (Barca’s second) goal was an absolute peach – the striker’s perfectly executed left foot shot curling past Javi Varas just before the half hour mark was the pinnacle of a masterly performance by the Champions.

Sevilla are no mugs, but nonetheless they were given a stern lesson by a Barca team that defiantly laid down the gauntlet to La Liga that they will not roll over and relinquish the title to current leaders Real Madrid.

Barca have most definitely found their feet again. It really is shaping-up towards being a fantastic el classico later this month.

It is wonderful to find a totally reliable website for Barcelona tickets. They were delivered to our hotel the night before the match, we had seats together which exceeded our expectation. We will be booking with you again next year. It was a night to remember for me (mum) and my son (Chris) and are so so pleased that such a wonderful service is provided. Thank you so much

Thank you, Barca. We’re big fans of Barca and we came from Slovenia to Camp Nou to see the match. It looks like the team rewarded us so we enjoyed every minute of it. Children were enthusiasted.

Last year I took my wife to see Barça draw against Villareal. We travelled from Southern California for the match. That evening was the most memorable sporting event in my life. The stadium was full, and you saw nothing but the Catalan colors flying proudly. I could only imagine what it was like when Sevilla was subdued.

    Barça fan for life!
