Barcelona in control against Sevilla

April 6, 2017

After missing Barcelona’s match at the weekend through suspensuion, Leo Messi was in form against Sevilla last night when he scored two of the Catalan’s three goals.

Luis Suarez scored the opener 25 minutes into the first half, in a match that Barcelona had completely in their control. It was the start of an intense eight minutes with Lionel Messi scoring Barça’s second three minutes later. Then after five more minutes he scored again.

With three points in the bag Barcelona slowed down the pace of the match and in the end Sevilla just weren’t up to the job. While the second half wasn’t exactly thrilling football, it does at least leave Barcelona in contention for the league title.

1-0 Suárez (min 25)
2-0 Messi (min 28)
3-0 Messi (min 33)

After Barcelona’s match Madrid beat Leganes. The result leaves Barcelona two points behind their arch-rival but Madrid have a game in hand.
