Midweek update to 2016/17 Spanish League table

February 23, 2017

Last night Real Madrid played one of their two catch-up games, when they faced Valencia at the Mestalla. The match had been postponed from December, when Madrid was playing in the Club World Cup.

Valencia has been struggling all season and now on their third manager. Their chances didn’t look at all good. Despite that they scored twice in the first nine minutes and despite Ronaldo scoring towards the end of the first half, they were unable to close the gap. That means Madrid are now a single point ahead with one game in hand. That match was postponed due to storm damage of Celta Vigo’s stadium at the beginning of February.
