The gap closesFebruary 25, 2008
Barcelona beat Levante a resounding 5-1 last night at the Nou Camp in a match that saw Sanmueal Eto’o score his first hat-trick for the blaugranas. Barcelona went ahead with a goal from Xavi in the 14th minute after a great bit of play by Iniesta and Eto’o. However, Barça failed to dominate and in the 41th munte and handball from Zambrotta gave Levante the chance to score off a penalty. However, Messi out things right just before half time with a pass from Xavi.
In the second half Barça showed their form and stamina, outplaying the visiting team completely. Again and again (and again) Eto’o ended up with the ball in front of the net and put it home. With Real Madrid losing against Getafe later on Sunday, Barcelona have closed the gap to just 2 points, and with an increased confidence they look as if they are capable of achieving what just a few weeks ago was unthinkable.
