Weekend roundup

March 19, 2007

With a 4-0 victory away against Recreativo on Saturday, Barcelona have maintained their position at the top of the league on 53 points, although by the end of the weekend Sevilla were again equal on points. Real Madrid on the other hand had a less than convincing victory against Nastic de Tarragona and trail in third place with 48 points with Valencia and Zaragoza just behind them.

The match against Recreativo was one of the most exciting for some time, with 2 goals from Samual Eto’o and one each from Zambrotta and Messi, who since returning from injury continues to show how valuable he is to the team.

There is a one week break in the league to allow for international duties, so the next league matches will be played on the weekend of 31st March/1st April when Deportivo arrives at the Nou Camp.
