Win against Eibar takes unbeaten run to 36March 7, 2016
Two goals from Messi and one each from Munir and Suarez saw FC Barcelona extend their record breaking unbeaten run across all competitions to 36 and maintain their advantage at the top of the league. With Neymar off through suspension Luis Enrique played Munir in his place. And within 7 minutes he had scored the opener off an assist by Luis Suarez to put the Catalans ahead.
Eibar weren’t going to just allow themselves to be walked all over them though and made several dangerous ñlooking attempts on the Barça goal. However, the Basques were unable to finish. The visitors, on the other hand, went into the break 2-0 ahead minutes after after Messi scored from a Munir assist.
The second half was far from being exciting. However, with fifteen minutes on the clock remaining a handball in the area saw Messi score from the penalty spot. With much focus on Barcelona’s penalty record this season it was good to see the Argentine put the ball into the Eibar net. Suarez scored the final goal of the match, but by that time Eibar had no hope of getting back into the match.
