Barça beats Madrid in first ever US clasicoJuly 31, 2017
Barcelona faced Real Madrid in Miami on Saturday night in the first ever clasico played on US soil.
In a hugely exciting match, Messi put Barcelona ahead within the first three minute, with Rakitic making it 2-0 after only seven. It didn’t take Madrid long to neutralize that advantage, with goals from Kovacic and Asensio to go into the break 2-2.
Gerard Pique’s goal five minutes into the second half put the Catalans ahead once more and despite the best efforts of both sides, that’s how the match ended. With Barcelona facing Madrid in the two legs of the Spanish Supercup in August, it was good to have another win under the belt of the new coach.
0-1 Messi (min 3)
0-2 Rakitic (min 7)
1-2 Mateo Kovacic (min 14)
2-2 Marco Asensio (min 36)
2-3 Piqué (min 50)
