Solid performance against BATE BorisovNovember 5, 2015
Neymar and Suarez provided three goals against BATE Borisov last night to add another three points in Group E of the Champions League, all but securing their place in the last 16. The Catalans dominated possession and created plenty of opportunities but all the same it took nearly 10 minutes for them to really find their stride.
Neymar scored the opener from the penalty spot after Munir was brought down inside the area just before the 30 minute mark. The Brazilian assisted Barça’s second goal a quarter of an hour into the second half, scored by Suarez. Suarez returned the favour with seven minutes on the clock when he made a break down the right hand side. Drawing the keeper out he passed to Neymar. From the centre of the box and with an open goal he could hardly miss.
Barça need just a single point to secure their place in the last 16 and continue their ambition to win the Champions League trophy two years in succession. The table now stands with Barcelona on top with 10 points, Roma on 5, Bayer Leverkusen on 4 and BATE Borisov of 3. A draw against Roma on 24th November will put them through to the next round,
1-0 Neymar (min 29)
2-0 Suárez (min 60)
3-0 Neymar (min 83)
