Suarez helps Barça to another big winApril 25, 2016
Barcelona secured another colossal win with four goals again by Suarez, putting him ahead of Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the Pichichi as the top scorer in the Spanish League. Although the final result was 6-0, four of those goals came in the last 20 minutes and three of them were penalties.
Messi scored the opener 11 minutes into the match from a header, but try as they might, that’s how the first half ended, with the visitors coming close to equalising too. After the break the players were clearly looking to go all out for a second goal, but it wasn’t until the last half hour of the match that things really fell into place. Suarez scored the second of the night just after the hour set up by Messi and Iniesta to make things more comfortable for the Catalans. And then less than 10 minutes later Suarez scored his second of the night after a hand ball in the area, the first of a run of three penalties within 12 minutes.
Suarez made it a hat-trick three minutes later after a second penalty was awarded to Barcelona after Neymar was brought down. And then, nine minutes later, Neymar was again fouled in the area and Vranješ sent off after receiving his second yellow card. Neymar kicked the penalty to make it 5-0. With the job done, Suarez still found the back of the Sporting net again with two minutes of time left to play. After a string of disappointing results it looks like Barça is back on track with three more matches left as the league continues towards its dramatic conclusion.
