Barcelona’s home kit to feature horizontal stripes [Guardian]

December 3, 2014

Nike has presented a shirt design with horizonal stripes for the 2015/16 kit according to Sport and reported by The Guardian. If the design has been approved – and the article says it has – then it will be the first time in the club’s 115 year history.

The sportswear company has felt the need to change the design because short sales are down and it feels this will provide the sales boost it needs. While there have been changes to the traditional kit in the past, such as red shorts instead of blue, or the blaugrana colours as half and half, this represents quite a change and a change made for completely the wrong reasons.
